Man dead after being hit by car on Hawkinsville Road in Macon

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A 25-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle Friday night on Hawkinsville Road, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
The fatal traffic collision happened in the 5000 block of Hawkinsville Road near the intersection of Kumho Parkway.
The Macon-Bibb E-911 Center received the call just after 11 p.m. Witnesses reported that a 58-year-old driver of a blue Lexus struck Kemontre Azian Braswell as he was crossing the roadway wearing dark clothing.
Deputies arrived and found Braswell unresponsive at the scene.
Paramedics attempted to treat Braswell, but he died from his injuries, according to the sheriff’s office. Officials said next of kin has been notified.
The collision remains under investigation, and no charges have been filed at this time.
