Man Beaten with Baseball Bat in Macon

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Police arrested 32-year old Joseph Moore Sunday morning, after getting a call that a man had been beaten with a baseball bat.

When police arrived to Hillcrest and Hillyer they found the victim laying face down in the street bleeding from his head; Moore was standing near his vehicle, with a metal bat on the front seat.

Moore told officers that he and the victim started to fight while they were riding in the car together. That fight then moved to the street.

Witnesses told police that Moore took a metal bat from his vehicle, kicked the victim in the chest, and used the bat to beat the man.

The victim was taken to a local hospital.  Moore was taken to the Bibb County Jail and charged with aggravated assault.
