Man assaulted in north Macon hotel parking lot

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an attempted armed robbery that happened in the parking of the Best Western Riverside Inn on Riverside Drive.

According to a news release, 61-year-old David Lord was parking his car when a man approach him and demanded money. Lord refused and the suspect hit him on the head with and unknown object.

The suspect fled the scene.

Lord was taken to a local hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
