Man Arrested for Kidnapping Macon Hotel Owner and Attempted Robbery
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A man staying in a Bibb County hotel is accused of kidnapping the owner, stealing his van, and attempting to rob him.
27-year-old Frezer Fernandez was staying at the Villager Lodge on Harrison Road. According to witnesses, he confronted the hotel owner and demanded money. That’s when police say pepper-sprayed the owner, forced him into the owner’s vehicle, and drove to the State Bank on Log Cabin Drive, where he demanded the owner go in and take out money.
Tellers at the bank called 911, and Fernandez fled. He was caught and arrested in the parking lot of Dixie Cleaners on Pio Nono Avenue. He’s charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Robbery, Kidnapping, Aggravated Assault, and Auto Theft.
