Man arrested during traffic stop in Macon, wanted by FBI on additional charges

According to a news release, the traffic stop took place at the intersection of Houston Avenue and Giles Street Lane on February 24 at 12:21 p.m.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A man was arrested on Monday during a traffic stop in Macon, after deputies found a stolen firearm in his vehicle and learned he was wanted by the FBI.

According to a news release, the traffic stop took place at the intersection of Houston Avenue and Giles Street Lane on February 24 at 12:21 p.m.

The driver was identified as Roddreckious Deandrea Williams.

A deputy initiated the traffic stop on Williams for not wearing his seatbelt. The deputy found out Williams was wanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigations (Atlanta) on a warrant regarding multiple narcotics violations, including trafficking cocaine. The deputy also found a stolen handgun inside the glove compartment of the vehicle.

Williams was arrested without incident and taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. Williams was charged with theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and suspended registration.
