Man Arrested After Leading Officers on Chase Through 3 Mid-GA Counties
FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Monroe County deputies arrest a man after a high speed chase on I-75 that caused an accident.
A Lamar County deputy tried to stop Jeremy Deonte Haugabook, but he refused and sped off.
Bibb deputies tried to stop Haugabook’s car with stop sticks, but that didn’t work. The chase got up to 120 miles per hour, and by the time the suspect got to Warner Robins, deputies stopped chasing him for fear of injuring other drivers. On Watson boulevard, deputies say Haugabook ran several red lights, and hit two vehicles. Officers chased him on foot, and found him hiding in a Goodwill Donation trailer.
We received a picture of who is believed to be the suspect being put into an ambulance. Other drivers hurt during the chase and accident were also taken to the hospital.
