Man and three dogs dead in fatal house fire on Lizella Road

At 12:22 a.m. on April 5, the fire department responded to a structure fire on the 2900 block of Lizella Road.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A man and three dogs are dead after a fatal house fire Saturday, according to the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department.

At 12:22 a.m. on April 5, the fire department responded to a structure fire on the 2900 block of Lizella Road. Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire conditions on the front side of the home. They set up a water supply and quickly began working to extinguish the flames.

Firefighters later found a 68-year-old man and three dogs dead as a result of the fire.

The fire is believed to have started in the living room and spread throughout the home. The investigation shows the fire appears to be accidental.
