Man accused of robbing north Macon motel

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb deputies arrested a man for robbing a motel in north Macon Saturday night.

Walter Ellison, Jr., 57, is charged with armed robbery.

Investigators from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said Ellison went to the clerk at the Best Western Inn on Riverside Drive and told her to give him money.  After the clerk gave him money, Ellison left in a white Pontiac Montana van. Another employee followed Ellison as he left and told the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office where Ellison was going, according to a news release.

A Georgia State Patrol Trooper was in the area and heard the suspect was in the parking lot of Logan’s Roadhouse. The trooper arrested Ellison and Bibb deputies were called to the scene to take Ellison to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.
