Male Mentoring Programs Bring Success to Houston County Middle Schools

Several middle schools in HoustonCounty are making sure troubled students spend less time in the front office and more time in the classroom learning.

Schools like Warner Robins and Huntington Middle are using non-traditional male mentoring programs to get it done.

Both programs focus on eighth grade male students. For a certain amount of time every week, teachers speak with the students about life and school issues. 

Now schools are seeing a change in maturity, academics and discipline.

At both schools, teachers recommend students for the program because of behavior, home life, grades and potential.
