Malaysia Attacks Filipinos To End Borneo Siege

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) – Malaysia’s prime minister says security forces are attacking a group of armed Filipinos who have occupied a village in Borneo for three weeks and killed two policemen.

Najib Razak says the assault was launched Tuesday morning to end the siege that has turned into Malaysia’s biggest security crisis in years.

The group of intruders comprises nearly 200 members of a Philippine Muslim clan who landed at a remote Malaysian coastal village last month and insisted the territory was theirs.
