Magnolia Soap Box Derby to take place next weekend

Event organizers say the annual tradition is free and open to the community.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Magnolia Soap Box Derby is set to take place next weekend in Macon.

Team Registration Chair, Charlotte Storey, says the event is free and open to the community. The event is April 12 and begins at 11 a.m.

STEAM Chair, Garrett Sisk, says there are 12 middle and high school teams that are participating in the event.

Operations Chair, Jorge Roque, says the group has been preparing this event since last Summer. Roque says he is thankful to all of the groups in Middle Georgia who help and make this event a success.

In addition to the races, the event will feature food trucks, music, and activities for all ages, making it an exciting day out for families.
