Macon’s Own Danny Glover Invited by First Lady to Tweet from the Whitehouse

Tonight, one of Macon’s own is in Washington DC as an exclusive guest of the first lady. Danny Glover, is one of only 15 tweeters invited to Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move Garden Harvest and Tweet Up” event.

“Michelle Obama, she rolled her sleeves up and she was digging in the sweet potato patch,” says Glover.

She’s encouraging kids to cut down on fast food and stock up on veggies. It’s part of her effort to slow down a rising epidemic.

“20 years ago obesity was at a 50% rate. It’s now at a 70% rate,” says Gloria Hagins, Coordinator, Let’s Move Macon.

Hagins is jump starting Mrs. Obama’s campaign by urging the community to eat options from the ground.
