MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Fort Hill Community Park is getting a facelift thanks to Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful and a grant from AARP.
KMBB Executive Director Asha Ellen says they were one of 300 organizations chosen for the AARP Community Challenge Grant: Tree Planting Project.
Ellen tells 41NBC they’re using the money from the fund to plant more trees and berry bushes at Fort Hill Community Park on Eastview Avenue.
She says they’re planting the trees and bushes to add more greenery to the park.
Ellen says this is Phase Two of the project. In Phase One, they put in a handful of gardens.
Ellen said they’ll begin a basketball court mural next week.
