Macon Wrestler Grabs Bronze at Pan-Ams

pinsonMACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A teenage wrestler represented well for Macon over the weekend at the Pan-American Wrestling Championship in Colombia.

17-year-old Emily Pinson, a Rutland High School student, took home the bronze medal for Team USA.  Wrestling in the 49 kg/108 lb. class, Pinson defeated El Salvador, 13-4, then lost to Mexico, 7-0.  She then won by fall over Argentina to claim the bronze.

The U.S. women’s freestyle team edged host Colombia by three points to win the 2013 Pan American Wrestling Championship team title. Four Americans won the gold medal.
