MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Peyton Anderson Foundation gave Macon Volunteer Clinic a $500,000 grant for renovations to their new downtown clinic  location.

Macon Volunteer Clinic Executive Director John McCard says this grant will help them with the renovations to their new downtown clinic.

The clinic offers patients who work but cannot afford the high cost of healthcare, eye care, mental health services, counseling and dental care services.

McCard says the new space will be much bigger; the new clinic is 11,000 square feet, whereas the current one is 4,000 square feet.

McCard says renovations are expected to be complete at the new downtown location by March.

It will be located at 770 Walnut Street.
