Macon Transit Authority Masks Policy now in effect
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Riders on Macon-Bibb Transit Authority and Paratransit bus routes will be required to wear face-coverings starting Monday.
According to MTA, the decision was made out of “an abundance of caution” as the Macon-Bibb COVID-19 cases rise.
Public Information Officer Jami Gaudet said, “People can use a traditional recognizable face covering or mask or they can do a makeshift mask or face covering they can use a bandana they can use a piece of cloth or fabric. But the key to that is it must be affixed to the head.”
No one will be admitted onto an MTA bus without a face-covering. MTA says temperature checks will continue.
The Georgia Department of Public Health reported 204 cases in Macon-Bibb as April 20.
