Macon Touchdown Club Honors Week 8 Standouts Across Middle Georgia

Week 8 Macon Touchdown Club Players Of The Week

MACON, Georgia – (41NBC/WMGT) – The Macon Touchdown Club honored its Week 8 Players of the Week on Monday night, recognizing standout performances from across Macon.

Backs of the Week went to Brady McHugh of First Presbyterian Day and Tyson White of Rutland.

McHugh, a senior running back and defensive back for FPD, rushed 22 times for 100 yards and caught nine passes for 45 yards, including the first touchdown of the night in the Vikings’ 21–10 win over Stratford in the 41NBC Game of the Week. On defense, he recorded 11 tackles, one for loss, and two pass breakups.

White, a junior quarterback and free safety for Rutland, went 8 of 13 passing for 228 yards and a touchdown, while rushing for 92 yards and two more scores on 11 carries in the Hurricanes’ 60–27 loss to Morgan County. He also added five tackles on defense.

Lineman of the Week honors went to Caleb Linder, a senior linebacker from Mount de Sales, who posted 14 tackles, including four for loss and a sack, in the Cavaliers’ 10–0 win over Tattnall Square.

Special Teams Player of the Week was awarded to Junior Holloway of Jones County. The senior kick returner and defensive back returned a kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown and recorded five tackles in the Greyhounds’ 27–24 overtime win over McDonough.

Howard head coach Trey Porter and ACE head coach Keith Hatcher both addressed the club about their teams, while special guest speaker Chris Hatcher, head coach at Samford University and Keith’s cousin, spoke about his Bulldogs’ season.

Chris Hatcher is a former Macon Touchdown Club honoree himself, earning Back of the Week honors in 1991 while both cousins attended Mount de Sales.
