Macon Teens Learn How to Avoid Becoming a Victim of Dating Violence

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County Law Enforcement and the Georgia Legal Services Program talked to teens about dating violence.

Dozens of young women showed up to find out how to avoid becoming a victim of dating violence.
They talked about date rape, stalking, and gun violence. Organizers of tonight’s seminar say dating violence is a growing concern among parents who have daughters starting to date.

“We like to educate the parents about some proactive techniques as to what the signs look like, what the behaviors are as it relates to their teenagers–males and females,” says Bibb County Domestic Violence investigator J.D. Collins, “so that they can identify any potential problems and then give them the available resources.”
