Macon Store Owner Shot During Attempted Robbery, Suspect Arrested

Macon Police arrested 22-year-old Darren Farrow, after he allegedly shot the owner of El Carnival. According to Police, Farrow robbed the store located at 4009 Pio Nono Avenue around 5pm.

Farrow got into an altercation with the owner, Jorge Villarreal, and that’s when he allegedly shot Villarreal twice. Villarreal was shot in the left forearm and right hip. He was taken to the Medical Center of Central Georgia.

Employee Juan Martinez says, “We come here to work. We don’t come here to do anything, and then someone gets you at work. We work with him. We’re a team. What happens to him hurts us too, because we’ve known him for years.”

According to the police, Farrrow fled from the scene, but was caught hiding behind the St. Charles Place.

Employees of El Carnival tell 41 NBC this is the second time the store has been robbed in the past few months.
