Macon State Football Team to Play for ICFF Championship

MACON, Georgai (41NBC/WMGT) – The Macon State football club has been invited to play in the Intercollegiate Club Football Federation Championship game this Saturday in Canton, Ohio. The Blue Storm will take on Southwestern Connecticut Prep.

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. The game can be seen on www.ustream.tv. Search for “MSC vs. SWC.”

This is the first season for Macon State club football. The team compiled a 5-2 record and was ranked 6th of all National Club Football Association teams. The new Middle Georgia State College, which will be created in January through the consolidation of Macon State and Middle Georgia colleges, plans to field a football club in 2013.

Earlier this fall, students of Macon State and Middle Georgia selected “Knights” as the mascot and purple, black and silver/gray as the colors for Middle Georgia State College, which will have campuses in Macon, Cochran, Dublin, Eastman and Warner Robins.
