Macon sports bar burglarized Sunday afternoon

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Rivalry’s Sports Bar in Macon is closed until further notice after someone took money from a safe Sunday afternoon.

It happened around 12:45 p.m. According to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, an employee noticed damage to the bar’s ceiling and office as she was getting ready to open.

The release says it appears someone entered through roof. There was also damage to an air condition vent. The suspect got away with cash.

Investigators don’t have a description of the thieves. It was also reported an alarm wasn’t activated. The business’ Facebook page said the damage is extensive and the bar will be closed until further notice.
