Macon softball teams honor fallen Middle Georgia heroes

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Softball is coming back to North Macon Park for the first time in more than 10 years.

Jonathan Long with North Macon Park tells 41NBC two of the teams are honoring fallen Middle Georgia heroes: the North Macon Blue Enforcers for Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Norris and the North Macon Extinguishers for Macon-Bibb Firefighter Lt. Randy Parker. Both men died while serving in the line of duty.

Long says both teams have the fallen heroes’ memorial sticker on the back of the players’ helmets. He adds they will play against each other as well as other teams from across Middle Georgia.
