Macon school celebrates “Leader In Me” skills
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Students at Burdell-Hunt Magnet School are showing off their leadership skills.
Parents, program sponsors and community partners were invited to the school’s first “Leadership Day.”
Students helped put the program together using their “Leader In Me” skills.
Teachers said they’ve seen behavior improvements since they started the program.
“The leader in me program has taught the kids to actually be a leader. It doesn’t matter what their age is, they know that the potential lies within them to be a leader,” said Carletta Mathews from Burdell-Hunt Magnet School.
The school plans to host another Leadership Day next year, only bigger and better!
