Macon Rings in the Season with Lighting of the Tree

The City of Macon officially welcomed the Christmas season Thursday night at the lighting of the tree downtown. The Christmas Tree is located across from city hall at the intersection of Poplar and New St.

Hundreds gathered on New Street, in front of the City Auditorium, to hear Christmas carols from nearly 250 Bibb County students.

Macon Mayor Robert Reichert and Bibb County Commissioner Sam Hart joined the festivities and shared their cheer with the crowd.

Mainstreet Macon and the Bibb County Board of Education sponsored the event.
