Macon residents petition against speeding cars in neighborhood
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Several Macon residents say their roadways aren’t raceways and say they’re tired of the speeding.
People in the Pendleton Homes neighborhood are frustrated about drivers speeding down the street. Residents are passing around a petition to install speed bumps.
One mother says she won’t let her kids play outside out of fear of them getting hurt.
“That hurts me the most because my kids cannot grow up to be kids. They can’t have fun. They have to stay in the house and play. People be speeding through here like it’s a racetrack and I’m not about to have my child die out here because of someone being silly,” LaShondra Walker, a concerned resident, said.
There were two signs concerning speed in the neighborhood.
People complain that’s not enough.
Neighbors say they’ll send the petition to the county get something done as soon as possible.
