Macon Police Officer Arrested on Drug Charges
FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Macon police officer is behind bars facing charges of drug possession and child endangerment, according to the Monroe County sheriff’s office.
27 year old Kontrina Toomer, a Precinct 4 Officer, was arrested after the Monroe County Drug Squad searched her home there. Another man living in the home was also taken into custody. 30-year old Horace Wise faces those same charges, plus possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and probation violation. Monroe deputies say he is a registered sex offender.
Macon Interim Police Chief Mike Carswell released a statement Thursday evening about Toomer’s arrest.
“We support the work of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and will cooperate fully during the course of this investigation,” Carswell says. “Any MPD officer charged with criminal behavior can expect serious consequences.”
Deputies siezed 11 ounces of marijuana, a handgun, and $4,000 in cash. The children in the home were turned over to DFACS.
