Macon Police Arrest ‘Wanted’ Woman After She Crashes Into Telephone Pole

Yolanda20Yvette20KingMACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon Police arrest a woman after she crashed the car she was driving into a telephone pole.

31 year-old Yolanda Yvette King was wanted for threatening a witness during official proceedings. This is King’s 18th arrest since 1998.

Back in June, 41NBC reported King was arrested and charged with probation violation and five counts of identity theft. Her arrest was linked to a year-long fraud investigation launched by federal agents, and local agencies including MPD.

According to spokesperson for MPD, Jami Gaudet,
around 12:40 pm, an officer spotted King riding in the passenger seat of a rust colored Lincoln Town car.

The officer turned on his lights. The driver jumped out, and ran. King slid into the drivers seat and drove away. She led the officer to the intersection at Third Street and Edgewood Avenue.

When she hit the pole, she attempted to run. The officer was able to apprehend her on the scene. King’s mother spoke to 41NBC after the accident.

“I thought my daughter was dead when I seen this car. The way this car looked my daughter could have died. You can tell by the way this car is split in half. I’m still pretty upset about it,” says Imogene Dennis, King’s mother.

King was taken to the medical center after the accident. Macon police say when she is released she’ll be transported to the Bibb County jail. She’ll be charged with driving under the influence (drugs), eluding, obstruction, and no seat belt.
