Macon Police Arrest US Airman In Whiskey River Shooting

Macon Police have arrested an E-4 classified US Airman they believe was involved in the shooting death of Anthony Harris last Friday.

Police say 22 year old Steven J. Holsey was picked up on a murder warrant today for the shooting that happened in the parking lot of Whiskey River in Macon. Police believe the two got into an argument on the dance floor of Whiskey River, and then took it outside, where they believe Holsey shot Harris.

“The case is still under investigation, it’s not concluded,” said Major Charles Stone of the Macon Police Department. “There may be the possibility of another arrest but we’re diligently following up on the case like we do all the homicides. We still have some outstanding homicide cases we’re investigating; we haven’t stopped. On this one we still have lots of work to do just like every other one. But right now we’re very happy–we’ve contacted the family earlier today prior to the arrest to let them know we were successful in making the arrest so that the family can have some closure.”

Holsey’s car was towed to the Macon Police Department Crime Lab for processing. Police are still investigating to see if anyone else was involved in the shooting.
