Macon Police Arrest Suspected Carjacker
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Macon police arrested 22-year-old Deontae Markeem Coker during a traffic stop on Second Street in downtown Macon Tuesday. MPD had a warrant on Coker for a carjacking incident in January.
According to a news release, an officer conducted the stop on a silver Saturn. The driver of the car gave the officer conflicting personal information. A second officer was called for back-up and noticed the smell of marijuana.
Coker is currently being held in the Bibb LEC. He was charged with Armed Robbery, Giving a False Name, Driving with a Suspended License, and Carjacking. Coker’s bond was set at $1,950.
