Macon Police Arrest Convicted Felon Found Holding Axe

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Macon police arrest a convicted felon Sunday night on Houston Avenue, after a call from an alert neighbor.

Officers found James S. Moore behind the house at 4204 Houston Avenue holding an axe, with aluminum siding on the ground next to him, and in a nearby shopping cart. A .22 caliber rifle was also found on the floor inside the house near Moore’s belongings.

Moore, 66, is charged with felony theft by taking, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, criminal damage to property, and 2 counts of criminal trespass. Moore was convicted of murder in 1976, and burglary in 1990 in Bibb County.
