Macon organization benefits from new way to help homeless
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Macon organization that helps the homeless will benefit from a new way to donate.
Daybreak has been helping the homeless for years.
The Double Up for Daybreak campaign allows you to drop off items at locations across Macon, including Rivoli Realty, Chuck Thompson’s State Farm, and Ken’s Stereo.
Sister Katie Norris, who’s the director of Daybreak at 174 Walnut Street in downtown Macon, says they need everyday household items.
“I was talking to a man this morning who said he had been gone from Macon for five years and just came back,” said Norris. “And he said I can’t get over what you all are doing here he said this is wonderful you know. It really does meet a need for those of us who find ourselves on the street right now.”
You can donate toilet paper, soap and toothpaste–but they’ll take just about any item.
All of it goes to help the homeless in Macon.
