Macon motel manager beaten and robbed

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A motel manager is in stable condition at a local hospital after being brutally beaten during a robbery.

The attack happened around 7:30 p.m. on Friday at the Budgetel Inn & Suites on 107 Holiday Drive.

The motel manager, 53-year-old Don Roberson, told investigators he saw two black males enter the motel lobby, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release. The men came behind the counter and hit Roberson in the face and head with their fists. One of the men picked up a chair and hit Roberson in the face with it.

The men took an undisclosed amount of cash and Roberson’s cellphone.

Both suspects were wearing all black. They were last seen running out of the motel in an unknown direction.

Roberson was transported by ambulance to the Medical Center, Navicent Health for his injuries.
