Macon Mission Receives Donated Van from Five Star Dealership

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A local car dealer made a big donation to the Macon Rescue Mission, Friday.
Five Star Automotive donated a customized 2013 Nissan NV 2500.
Macon Rescue Mission staff, board members and residents welcomed the van with applause and smiles.
The van will be used to transport food and essentials they need at the facility.
“The van is beautiful a lot of work went into designing this wrap we’ve seen pictures but pictures don’t do it justice,” said the mission’s Executive Director, Erin Reimers. “We’re very excited about this van and it’s going to help us help so many in the community.”

Five Star Automotive co-owner,Charlie Cantrell was on hand to give the keys to Reimer during the presentation of the new van. He said he along with his business partner, Dick Pope look forward to doing more for the mission.

“Dick and I have supported the Macon Rescue Mission for overt the past 20 years and it’s just a great ministry that helps a lot of people in the community and we just really believe in what Erin and the team here are doing to help people in Middle Georgia,” said Cantrell.

Macon Rescue Mission works to change the lives of people facing homelessness, domestic violence and poverty, by providing food, clothing, furniture and other assistance.
