Macon Mayor’s Budget Fully Funds Pay Scale, Supports Pensions

Macon faces financial challenges like funding a new employee pay scale and helping a struggling employee pension fund. After the mayor’s presentation of the 2012 budget to city council, many believe we’re headed in the right direction, at least for now.

“The devil is in those details, we’ll see in the budget hearings, but I’m optimistic that we’ve got a balanced budget that preserves the pay scale and addresses the pension issues,” said Lauren Benedict of Macon City Council.
