Macon man tells deputies he was shot in the neck on Montpelier Avenue

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- A Macon man is recovering from a gunshot wound.

        Kevon Dewayne Amica, 21, told Bibb County deputies he was shot in the neck while leaving the Fastee Foods located at 1389 Pio Nono Ave., according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release.

        Amica was on Montpelier Ave when he was shot around 9:15 p.m.

        Bibb County investigators are processing evidence and canvasing the area looking for people who were involved in the shooting.

        Amica was at the Fastee Foods when he told friends that he was leaving going to a nearby store.

        “He returned a short time later, stating that he was shot in the neck,” added the news release.

        Amica is in stable condition, recuperating at a local hospital. No one else was injured during the incident.

        “A description of the suspect(s) is not available at this time,” continued the news release.

        The shooting investigation is on-going.
