Macon Man Hails a Taxi to Rob a Bank

A Macon man hails a cab before robbing a bank Friday afternoon. Bibb Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 40-year-old David Dexter Deloach for robbing the Robins Federal Credit Union on Zebulon Road. He’s charged with Robbery and Probation Violation Superior Court.

Deloach hailed a cab from the Shell gas station on Romeiser Drive and asked the driver to take him to Robins Federal Credit Union. He handed the bank teller a note, demanding money and left with an undisclosed amount of cash around noon.

Deloach walked out of the bank and entered the same cab and asked the driver, who was unaware of the robbery, to take him to Red Lobster.

A bank employee was able to see the tag number and deputies arrested Deloach less than five minutes later.
