Macon man charged with murder; coroner discovers remains in Taylor County landfill

A Macon man faces several charges, including murder, in connection to the missing woman.
Family members of Shauntrise Michele Williams, 27, say since November 27 they had not seen or heard from Williams.
According to a news release, loved ones filed an official missing person report on December 1 just after 8:00 p.m.
The next day, Ali Lamont Tanner, 39, gave investigators at the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office information regarding Williams’ disappearance, and possible death.
Tanner is charged with murder, aggravated assault and a probation violation.
Magistrate Court Judge Jane Reeves denied Tanner bond on Wednesday.
He is currently being held at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Complex.
An autopsy on the body is scheduled for tomorrow.
According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, Tanner has a history of family violence charges including aggravated battery and child cruelty.
