Macon man arrested after deputies find 27 grams of meth during Forsyth traffic stop

FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A Macon man was arrested after deputies discovered more than 27 grams of methamphetamine during a traffic stop in Forsyth.
The vehicle stop happened July 22 and involved two people from Bibb County, according to a news release from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
During a brief field interview, one of the occupants voluntarily admitted to having illegal narcotics in the vehicle earlier in the day. Deputies also reported a strong odor consistent with marijuana coming from the car.
A search of the vehicle and its occupants led to the discovery of 27.1 grams of methamphetamine on 33-year-old Jamie Thomas of Macon.
Thomas is being held without bond at the Monroe County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
