Macon Homeowner Claims Unknown Man Shot Him, Lied to Police

Drexel Paul HoltonMACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Macon man is facing charges after filing a false police report claiming he was shot by an unknown man but then admitted to pulling the trigger himself.

According to a news release from the Macon Police Department, officers responded to Drexel Holton’s home on Sugarloaf Circle Wednesday. Holton told investigators he heard a noise at the front door and when he opened it, he was shot in the upper thigh by an unknown black male.

On Thursday, Holton contacted detectives to talk about the shooting and admitted he shot himself.

Holton is charged with false report of a crime, which is a misdemeanor. He released from the Bibb LEC on Thursday on a $1,300 bond.
