Ten graduating seniors from Hutchings College & Career Academy's "Teaching as a Profession" pathway confirmed their intent to pursue careers as educators on Monday.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Ten graduating seniors from Hutchings College & Career Academy’s “Teaching as a Profession” pathway confirmed their intent to pursue careers as educators on Monday.
Students in the program also had the opportunity to nominate teachers who positively influenced their career paths.
Future Georgia educator Angel Lott shared her motivation for choosing a teaching career.
“I want to be an educator, because I want to be a teacher that students can feel comfortable coming to,” Lott said. “I relate to a lot of the students.”
Instructor Jennifer Davis says it’s important to celebrate and support the students as they embark on their teaching careers.
“It’s no secret that people are leaving the teaching profession, so having them be celebrated and feel supported I think is super important, and that’s why we wanted to make this day special for them,” Davis said.
Faculty members expressed their hope that these aspiring educators will choose to teach in Bibb County.
