Macon, GA judge rejects ethics complaint

MACON, GA – An ethics complaint against Macon City Council member Elaine Lucas has been rejected by Municipal Court Judge Robert Faulkner.

The Telegraph reports the complaint was filed last week by Bibb County Republican leader Bill Knowles.

Faulkner’s decision, issued Tuesday, says Lucas has the First Amendment right to say what she wants on her Facebook page. Knowles had accused her of stirring up racial division with posts that alleged conspiracies against her.

Knowles says he accepts Faulkner’s decision. Lucas says she hasn’t yet read the ruling.
