Macon Fire And Pension Employee Board Member Asks For Attorney’s Resignation

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – An outside attorney for the Macon Fire and Police Employee Pension Board gets to keep his job after one board member demanded his resignation.

Board member and Macon City Councilman Larry Schlesinger asked the board to fire attorney Bob Lovett. Schlesinger alleges Lovett purposefully pushed him after last month’s meeting and refused to apologize.

Lovett denies the allegations.

“I deny it,” he said. “I’m surprised by it and I think its out of place to use this forum, a public forum, to vent a political animosity and to support his political agenda.”

The motion to terminate him didn’t pass. Lovett says he will not resign.
