Filming in Macon to bring street closures near Capricorn Studios

Production crews to film in May with impacts along MLK Jr. Boulevard

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Film crews will be working in parts of Macon in early May as production begins on a feature film.

According to a notice from Tap Out Productions, crews will film scenes for the movie Comeback King at Capricorn Studios, located at 530 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

Production activity is scheduled across three days:

  • Prep: May 6 from about 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Filming: May 7 from about 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Wrap: May 8 from about 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Rain dates are listed for May 6 and May 8.

Comeback King Macon Road Closures For Movie FilmingDuring that time, parking lane closures are expected along Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard between Plum and Poplar streets, and on Poplar Street between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Fifth Street.

Production crews say the areas will be used for trucks and equipment.

Organizers say they plan to avoid blocking driveways and will work to minimize disruptions.

Macon-Bibb County Sheriff’s deputies are expected to be on site during filming to help with safety.

The production is also coordinating with Macon-Bibb County Special Events.
