Macon Film Festival Kicks Off

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Thursday the Macon Film festival kicked off a weekend of movies made by local and upcoming artists.

The festivities started at the Cox Capitol Theater and the 567 in downtown Macon. 41NBC caught up with three of the filmmakers, whose movie, “Cab 57” premiered tonight at the Cox. The group came all the way from L.A. and say they wanted to bring their film to Macon to experience southern hospitality and bring people together through art.

“Film is the meta-art, as we all know. and art is the universal culture. celebrating art, music, food makes everyone become a family,” says Apo Bazidi, director of “Cab 57.”

The festival runs through Sunday, and you can purchase tickets at maconfilmfestival.com.
