Macon Fashion Week kicks off, celebrating local creativity and community

The city of Macon is stepping into the spotlight this week with the launch of its first-ever Macon Fashion Week.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The weeklong celebration, running through November 8, highlights the city’s unique style, creativity, and community spirit. The event features a variety of activities including fashion shows, workshops, panel discussions, and interactive gatherings at venues across the city.

Organizers say the goal of Macon Fashion Week is to shine a light on local designers, student creators and Indigenous artists while promoting sustainable and responsible fashion.

Throughout the week, attendees can look forward to themed events like “Young Designers Night” at the Tubman Museum, the “Responsible Runway” at Wesleyan College, and the “Catwalk Closing + Shop with Dillard’s” event, which will donate a portion of proceeds back to Macon Fashion Week.

In addition to style and design, the event also celebrates diversity and inclusion, featuring a range of designers that represent Macon’s rich cultural landscape.

Macon Fashion Week is produced in partnership with Macon Magazine and Wesleyan College, and organizers hope it will become an annual tradition that supports local artists and connects the community through creativity.

All events are free to the public, with VIP experiences available for purchase.
