Macon Family Watches As Fire Severely Damages Their Home

Earlier today, a house on the corner of Holt Avenue and East Napier Avenue in Macon was severely damaged by a fire, and the family watched as their home was engulfed by smoke the day after they celebrated a holiday together.

“My thirteen year old was the one who saw the flames,” says Ruth Brooks. Her son Sherod warned the family of the fire on Gloria Brooks back porch. He single handedly saved the Brooks family’s lives.

“Thank God we had all these people at the house. Seven, eight, nine kids, and three adults, and we all made it out,” says Ruth.
