MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- A new early learning center in Macon is preparing to open its doors to families this fall.

The facility, located on Shurling Drive, will focus on early childhood education and development. It is named for Macon-Bibb Economic Opportunity Council CEO Sarita Hill.

Leaders said the project took more than two years of planning, funding, and approvals to complete.

Hill said the center will rely on community support as it begins serving families.

“We need help, we need volunteers to come and read to the children, to be there with the children. To come in and enjoy them, they would definitely love to see you and definitely donate. Funds are always needed; we could definitely use the funds,” Hill said.

The Sarita R. Hill Learning Center is already accepting enrollment for the upcoming school year.
