After the game, 41NBC’s Justin Dierkes spoke with Head Coach Jimmy Daniels about the emotion he was feeling after a big victory and the trust he has in his girls. “It’s a heartfelt moment, man. We had a long year. We started off kind of rough, but we have prevailed” said Coach Daniels while trying to catch his breath. “I got to prepare tonight for moving forward. Like I said, I am proud of those girls, man. They came out and played hard, they came out and fought hard. I am proud. We’re moving on to Friday, I’ll see you guys in Milledgeville.”

When asked about the last second shot, Coach said, “I knew it was going in. I knew it was going in.”

Cochran spoke on the emotion in the moment as well. “It means a lot because the Macon County girls haven’t been this far in a long time. So, it means a lot and for me to be apart of it, it means the world to me. I’m glad I’m able to share that with my team and everybody in Macon county, I’m very excited” said Morgan.

When speaking about the last second shot, Cochran said “It feels amazing because I didn’t know if it was going in or not, but I’m glad it did, and I’m glad we are moving forward. [Coach Daniels] been my head coach for awhile so I’m glad he got the faith in me. He put the game on me. He told me in the timeout. He told me it was my job to get us the win, so that’s what I did.”

Macon County will take on Washington-Wilkes in the GHSA Class A Division-Two Semifinal Round Friday at Georgia College and State University with a tip-off scheduled for 5 p.m.
