Macon Council Names Candidate to Fill Open Seat

Macon City Council Ward 5 members have named their choice to fill the vacant Post 3 seat. They have chosen Stratford academy tennis coach, Jamie Kaplan.

This is the seat left vacant by Beverly Blake, due to moving outside her district. She had only served on council for two months, after filling Erik Erickson’s seat when he resigned.

The city attorney has to file a resolution to appoint Kaplan. Full Council would then vote on June 7, and if Kaplan’s chosen she will serve the remainder of this term.
