Macon Coastal Plain League team introduces president

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Plans for the Coastal Plain League team coming to Macon are in full swing. Macon-Bibb commissioners met the president of the team this afternoon.

Todd Pund took on his position Wednesday. He has had many years of experience with different levels of baseball. Pund says he’s excited to work with the team. Not only being the president, but a mentor.

“You have a lot young people that work in the game, so my chance to mentor them in the industry is fun to work with,” said Pund. “But it takes a little bit of time to grow. I can share my experiences and help them navigate.”

Pund says the team should have a coach by September. Renovations and construction to Luther Williams Field are expected to start in October.

The team still needs a name.Co-owner of the league, Steve DeLay says they will soon be asking the public for suggestions.
